HOUSING & COSTS

Living in a fraternity or sorority provides great benefits to you at the University of Idaho. Each of our chapter houses provides a home away from home. We pride ourselves on the feeling you get while living in a Greek chapter house.

Since all the fraternities and sororities are privately-owned the cost varies from chapter to chapter. Your student will be billed by the chapter as opposed to the University. You can use your financial aid to pay for fraternity and sorority living.

The Multicultural Greek Organizations are not housed at the University of Idaho. Most of the members of these organizations live in the residence halls or off-campus after thier sophomore year.

All of our sororities provide alcohol free housing environment. Alcohol is never allowed in a sorority chapter house. Our fraternities are changing too, and there are some who offer alcohol free environments. In all of our Greek chapters, every form of hazing is prohibited as well as actions that would demean or endanger the well being of a student.

Living in a fraternity of sorority is comparable in cost to living in a residence hall. Our chapter houses provide an environment for your college years unlike any other living arrangement on campus. Greek living is more than studying and socializing. An important part of a college education is learning to work with others and to give of yourself.
