International Applicants
Academic requirements:
All Graduate School applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor degree. For access to our Bachelor’s Equivalency page, please click here.
For Admissions purposes, international students must meet academic and language requirements. Admission is dependent on credentials that demonstrate the applicant's capacity to succeed academically at the university level.
UI evaluates foreign courses and academic transcripts in terms of approximations. We will accept evaluations from professional credential evaluation services. A list of the five professional credential evaluation services from which the University of Idaho will accept evaluations can be found here.
Individual department requirements may be more rigorous than the general UI requirements. In those situations, final admission is based on the department's decision. Students who meet academic requirements but who fall short of the UI's minimum language requirements can apply for deferred admission.
Please Note: Students transferring to the UI from another U.S. college or university MUST notify their current International Student Advisor of their plans to transfer to the University of Idaho. More information regarding the SEVIS transfer process can be found here.
