The Academic Success Program is geared toward assisting those students admitted to the University of Idaho provisionally and who are either first generation and/or Pell grant eligible. The intention is aimed at increasing the likelihood for academic success. This is accomplished by working in cooperation with the Academic Success Advisor and your Faculty Advisor. The student and the Academic Success Advisor will collaborate in creating a course schedule that immediately plays to the student’s strengths, while adhering to degree specific requirements. Additionally, the student and the Academic Success Advisor will identify any potential resources that may assist with success, such as: TAAP, CAP, CTC, writing center and ASUI. Ultimately, the Academic Success Program will aid in navigating the collegiate experience by acting as a compass for qualified students.
The Academic Success Program is supported by the Idaho Education Access Fund and the Northwest Area Foundation Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation. The foundation has graciously funded both the development and sustainability of this Program and its Academic Success Advisor. In addition, funds support scholarship monies for program participants.
