Acid attacks, which involve the deliberate throwing of nitric or sulfuric acid into the face of another person (usually young women), are on the rise worldwide. The film contextualizes acid violence as both a human rights violation and a form of gender-based violence, as most victims are accused of transgressing gender or sexual norms in some way.

Illustrated with hundreds of up-to-date images, the film offers a unique and powerful tool for understanding both the continuing influence of music videos, and how pop culture more generally filters the identities of young men and women through a dangerously narrow set of myths about sexuality and gender.
