Message from OMA
Hello all,
I would like to thank everyone who made this year’s Vandal Challenge a success. Congratulations to OELA on a their outstanding leadership program! Also I would like to congratulate the ladies of Gamma Alpha Omega and the gentlemen of Lambda Theta Phi on a successful toy drive that will benefit children on the Palouse this holiday season. Thanks to everyone involved and their overwhelming generosity.
Many of you will be leaving this week and I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday travel. UI will be open November 23-25 and closed November 26-27.
When you return to campus ASUI, CAMP, LGBTQA Office, Women’s Center and OMA will have a week of events for students, faculty and staff to participate in for World AIDS Day (December 1st). More information will be available later this week in a separate e-mail.
Have a great week,
Leathia

Time: 12:30 pm
Location: Women’s Center Lounge Memorial Gym 109
Description: Just days before the release of the second “Twilight” movie, “New Moon”, we will explore the “Twilight” series and examine how race, class, and gender are portrayed in teen literature. Does this popular series perpetuate racism? How does classism play out in the dynamics between Bella, Jacob, and Edward? What gender dynamics are evident between the interplay of the main characters? Upon exploring these questions, we will ask – does this matter and why should we be concerned with these norms in popular teen literature? This event is FREE and open to ALL!
