The vision for OELA is to increaes the enrollment and graduation rates for Mexican/Mexican-American/Chicano/Latino students in the state of Idaho.

Our efforts to realize this vision include a compilation of mentoring programs and community outreach efforts aimed at motivating young high school Mexican American/Hispanic/Latino students to set their sights on a post secondary education. 

In addition to our programming, OELA is committed to opening the doors of opportunity on campus as well as the the doors to their homes to new and prospective University of Idaho students.  We welcome new students to join our family on the University of Idaho campus.  Our numbers are growing annually and it is a living testatment our success and the leadership of our member support system at the University of Idaho.
 
Our support system, combined with our innovative and award winning exploratory programs such as the OELA Vandal Challenge Leadership Conference, OELA is helping realize the vision of increasing Mexican American/Hispanic/Latino participation in higher education.
