NEWS From Conquest to Community, From Violence to Reverence: Interfaith Fast on October 8
INTERFAITH COMMUNITY POTLUCK MONDAY, OCTOBER 8, 6:15 p.m. (dusk) Gladish Community Center View Room, 115 NW State, Pullman
Students and religious leaders from several traditions, invite everyone to join with millions of other Americans by fasting from dawn to dusk, then breaking the fast together in a potluck October 8 at the Gladish Community Center in Pullman. In the breaking of bread, fasting, and breaking the fast together we covenant together to live out the deepest calling in each of our traditions – the desire for justice and for peace for all people.
We invite people of all traditions to join for one day with our Muslim brothers and sisters who are currently engaged in fasting during the month of Ramadan, and with our Jewish neighbors who have just broken their fast of atonement, to break our fast together. Through our fast, we call to join people of faith in local communities across our nation to act as catalysts to move America to a nation of peace, and one that truly embraces sisterhood and brotherhood.
