Welcome to the University of Idaho Common Read Program! This program is for all incoming freshman to the University of Idaho. Transfer students are also encouraged to participate.
The program is designed to help students prepare intellectually and academically for their first semester at the University of Idaho. This coming fall, themes and ideas from the book will be used in core curriculum classes, orientation activities, civic engagement activities and across a variety of disciplines.

1 Dead in Attic-After Katrina is a collection of stories by Times-Picayune columnist Chris Rose, recounting the first harrowing year and a half of life in New Orleans after Hurrican Katrina. This book was well received and over 600 students attended the 1/2 day discussion. The author Chris Rose also joined us on campus and presented to student, community and administrative groups.
